Peterson, Robert Eugene

Robert Eugene “Bob” Peterson, Sr., 84, of Pulaski, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016. He was born in Hiwassee, Va. on February 1, 1932 and was the son of the late Shirley and Mabel Chumbley Peterson.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, James, Donald “Tuck”, Shirley “Tom”, and Gary Peterson and by a sister, Sue Peterson Conrad.

Surviving are his wife of 61 Years, Mary Alderman Peterson; children and spouses, Robert “Gene” Peterson, Jr. and Angel, Princeton, W.Va, Kenneth “Kenny” Peterson and Teresa, Pulaski, Va., Steven “Steve” Peterson, Pulaski, Va., Sharon Peterson Perdue and Michael “Shane”, Summerville, S.C.; grandchildren, Joshua Peterson, Terri Peterson, Alicia Peterson, Mitchell Peterson, Chase Perdue, Carrington Perdue, Kelsey Peterson; sisters and brother-in-law, Jane Morris, Hiwassee, Va. Nancy Bond and Lester, Hiwassee, Va.

Bob worked for Burlington Industries for many years. He enjoyed his dump truck, tractors and spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, November 12, 2016 from the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Julie Armbrister officiating. Burial will follow in Thornspring Church Cemetery, Pulaski Co.

Visiting will be Saturday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the service hour.

The family appreciates flowers but suggests memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
