Dickerson, Charles William

Charles William Dickerson, age 78, of Christiansburg died, Thursday, October 20, 2016, at his home. He was born in Merrimac, Va. on May 19, 1938 to the late William Harvey and Icie Martin Dickerson.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Dawn Parker, a granddaughter, Sylvia Parker, sister, Ann Donathan, brother, Jimmy Dickerson. He was an avid turkey hunter. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy J. Dickerson, son and daughter-in-law, Charles W. Jr and Elizabeth Dickerson, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, brother, Buford Dickerson, special nephew, Terry Dickerson, special niece, Nora Stover.

Special thanks to the nurses and staff to Carilion New River Valley Hospice.

Graveside services will be conducted Monday, October 24, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Sunset Cemetery with the Chaplain David Kent officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4-6:00 pm Sunday afternoon at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
