Link, Adrian Eugene
Adrian Eugene (Gene) Link, age 66, of Blacksburg went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 8, 2016. He was born in Christiansburg, Va. on November 5, 1949 to the late Everette and Evelyn (Spud) Link. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Link.
He graduated from Giles High School. Gene retired from Moog with over 25 years of service. Gene had a kind and loving heart. He loved serving and helping others as much as possible. Gene served in the Roanoke Valley Presbyterian Church as a member and elder. He volunteered many years in 4-H and attended Jr. 4-H camp for one week of the summer for years. Gene is an All-star in 4-H. Gene was an Alumni member of the Blacksburg FFA Chapter for many years. He loved farming on the family beef and dairy farm.
Most of all, his love and passion for his wife, Janet for 40 years, his son, daughter and two grandkids. If Gene didn’t pick and bug a little, you knew something was wrong. We will miss you and you were greatly loved by all.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; daughter, Jennifer; son, Dwayne and his wife, Rachel and their children, Daniel and Sadie; and half-brother, Porter Bowman and his wife, Charlene; mother-in-law, Kathleen Grubb; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Barry Neel; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thank you to all the love and support from family and friends through this time.
Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 11:00 am in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Charles Taylor officiating. Interment will be private in the Grubb Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Dwayne Link for a trust fund for the grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
