Kinser, Tokie Duncan

Tokie Duncan Kinser, 91, of Radford, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016. She owned and operated Norwood Salon since 1974 where she did many generations of family’s hair. She was loved by Radford citizens as well as the temporary citizens of Radford University.

She never met a stranger and was a role model to many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Naomi Duncan; and daughter, Judy Schoonover.

Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Danny Kinser of Radford, and Mark and Stephanie Kinser of Draper; grandchildren, Darrell Schoonover, and Joshua and John Kinser; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Calvin and Geneva Duncan of Christiansburg, Alvie and Glenda Duncan of Radford, and Jabe Duncan of Floyd; and many, many friends.

The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Brian Cockram officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Burial Park in Radford.
