Preston, Martha Clark
Martha Elizabeth Clark Ireson Preston, of Draper, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016. Martha was born in Washington County near Abingdon, Va. to Franklin Bruce Clark, Sr. and Margaret Lucille Graham Clark Moseley.
She grew up in Washington County, graduating from Cleveland High School. After attending Radford University, she received a Bachelor degree in Home Economics and later a Masters in Art. She taught for over 30 years in Florida, Missouri, and Virginia, retiring from Pulaski County High School in Pulaski, Va.
Martha was very active in her church, Draper’s Valley Presbyterian. She was also an avid pianist and organist playing for many horse shows and other venues. She was an accomplished artist and member of the Fine Arts Center in Pulaski.
Martha is survived by her son, James Ireson, Jr. (Sherri); and two grandchildren, Thomas Ireson and Joshua Ireson, all of Warner Robins, Ga. and her special daughter, Mary Helen Preston of Christiansburg, Va.; brothers, the Reverend Franklin Clark, Jr. (Evelyn) of Macon, Ga., John Clark (Patty) of Abingdon, Va., Joseph Clark (Pat) of Manassas, Va.; and sister, Mary Hope Lee (Mike) of Johnson City, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Ireson, Sr. and Thomas Preston.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 7, 2016 at Draper’s Valley Presbyterian Church. The Reverend Preston Sartelle, Jr. and the Reverend Roland Mathews will officiate.
