Collins, James A.

James A. Collins (Jimmy), 54, of Elliston, passed away June 5, 2006. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and a hardworking man. He worked even when he was sick and held two jobs-15 years at City of Salem, 22 years at Valley Curb and Gutter. He loved being outdoors hunting, fishing. Jimmy was a very well respected man.

He is survived by his wife, Judy A. Collins; daughter, Jessica Abbott; son, Quentin Collins (Jay); grandchildren, Brittany, Paul Isaac, Bethany, and Ryan (stepgrandson); mother, Doris Munsey Collins, all of Elliston; sisters, Debbie and Dickie Loving and Penny and Alfred Altice, all of Shawsville, and Pam and David Loving, of Ellison; many nieces, nephews, and their families, and numerous friends and co-workers.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 9, at Lotz Funeral Home, Salem. Co-workers will be by invitation only. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers or food, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Research in memory of their loved ones who have passed. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral Home, Salem.
