Claxton, Lucy Trussell

At the peak of dawn Thursday, September 1, 2016, Lucy Virginia Trussell Claxton went to be with her heavenly Father. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Ellen Trussell; and four siblings, Anna, Louise, Junior Ralph, and Laura.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, John (Dink) Claxton; daughters, Ellen Claxton and Barbara Claxton Twine; sons, John (Evadora) Claxton and Curtis Eugene Claxton; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jayne Brown and Myrtle Trussell; three brothers, Gene, Ralph, and Busby Trussell; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Services will be held noon Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at First Baptist Church of Elliston with a visitation one hour prior beginning at 11 a.m. and interment immediately following at Westview Cemetery in Blacksburg. Officiating will be the Rev. Milton Johnson and Eulogist will be the Rev. Vivian Simmons.
