Mills, Jr., James Lee
James Lee Mills, Jr., 73, of Blacksburg died Thursday, August 4, 2016, at his home. He was born in Buffalo, N.Y. on July 3, 1943 to the late James Lee Mills, Sr. and Etta Josephine Baugh Mills.
He attended and graduated from public schools in Buffalo, N.Y. James graduated from University of Buffalo as an Occupational Therapist.He retired as Lt. Colonel of the United States Army. In pursuing his many careers to include being a professor at Florida International University and serving at the United Nations, he became a world traveler.
He is survived by his sons, Martin Mills, of Germany, Robert Mills of Switzerland, Giovanni Mills of Blacksburg; by his daughter, Sarah Mills of Germany; by his sister, Joyce M. Mills-Gais of Buffalo, N.Y.; by his longtime companion, Laura Zanotti of Blacksburg, and many relatives and friends.
Services will be held privately. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
