Smythers, Dayna Whitt

Dayna Whitt Smythers, 78, of Allisonia passed away August 9th 2016 at her home. She was born in Pulaski County on June 14th 1938 and was the daughter of the late David Boyd Whitt and Freda Covey Whitt.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Roydon “Scott” Smythers, Grandson, Daniel Taylor and eleven siblings.

She worked as an assistant Manager at the Bank of Virginia and was a faithful member of the Pulaski Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Surviving are her Husband Daris O. Smythers

Children, Dari Jenkins, Michael Smythers, Sonja Taylor and Daris “Dwayne” Smythers

Funeral services will be held Friday August 12th at 12 Noon from the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Don Elswick and Pastor Dennis Trail officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Farris Cemetery, Allisonia. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11am till the service hour. In lieu of flowers the Family wishes memorial gifts be sent to Pulaski Seventh Day Adventist Church c/o 4326 Russell Road, Pulaski, VA 24301.
