Cox, Carolyn Blosser
Carolyn Blosser Cox, 74, of Blacksburg, passed away peacefully, Friday, August 5, 2016, at her home. She was born in Charlottesville on August 7, 1941, to the late Henry and Juanita Blosser, and was also preceded in death by her sister, Sherry Lambert.
She was a graduate of Perry McClure High School, received her BS from Old Dominion, and her Masters from UNC, Charlotte. She taught middle school for 25 plus years. She enjoyed her entire teacher career, molding young minds. She traveled extensively throughout Europe with students as well as friends and family. She was a believer in continuous learning, and an avid reader of fiction and history.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Edmund B. Cox; daughters and son-in-law, Torrie Ruther (Steve), and Leslie Knutson; son, Vaughn Cox; granddaughters, Ellery and Margo Ruther, and Veronica Knutson.
Memorial services will be conducted at 4 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2016, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sebert Rorrer officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive S.W., Blacksburg,Va. 24060.
Carolyn will be dearly missed by her family and friends. We love you. “I haven’t been everywhere, but its on my list.”
