Massey, Judith Ashburn

Judith Ashburn Massey, 85, formerly of Blacksburg,VA., loving Mother and Grandmother, died in Largo, Florida at Suncoast Hospice Care Center in Pinellas Park, Florida. She was a native of Nansemond County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Marietta H. and Thomas J. Ashburn, Sr., and the widow of Paul Vernon Massey, Jr.

Judith was a member of the Blacksburg Baptist Church, Blacksburg, VA. She worked as Assistant Post Master in Suffolk, VA and retired from Head Secretary in Plant Pathology at Virginia Tech University. She loved her work as a volunteer at Montgomery County Hospital, receiving Volunteer of the Year Award.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Paula A. and Michael Powers, of Largo, FL and Judith L. and Phillip Keating, of Newport, VA; four grandchildren, Jessica and Sean Powers, Julie Prester and Chelsea Keating.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 11:00 am in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg,VA. with Dr. Tommy McDearis officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Suncoast Hospice Foundation, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760-9962.
