Huffman, Eloise Denton

Eloise Denton Huffman, 91, of Pearisburg, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 10, 2009, in Greensboro, N.C. Mrs. Huffman was born on October 22, 1917, in Ripplemead, Va., and was a daughter of the late Odey Ernest Denton and Betty Price Denton. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Marshall Huffman; one sister, Dorothy Simerly; and one brother, George Denton.

Mrs. Huffman was a long time, faithful member of the Pearisburg Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. Eloise will be dearly missed by her family.

She is survived by on daughter, Joyce Brumback and husband, George; one son, David Huffman and wife, Vickie; granddaughters, Candace Folden, Jamie Trotta and husband, Joe; grandsons, Eddie Huffman and wife, Diane, and William Raynor; greatgrandsons, Logan and Tyler Huffman; stepgranddaughter, Ciri Fenzel and husband, John; stepgreat-grandson, Luke Fenzel; and stepgrandson, Scott Raynor.

Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at the Pearisburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Todd Mislay officiating. Burial will follow in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg on Tuesday evening, August 11, 2009, from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, N.C. 27405.
