McCambridge, Elizabeth Viers

Elizabeth Viers McCambridge, 81 of Max Creek Rd, Hiwassee, Va. passed away Sunday morning, May 1, 2016, in Pulaski Health and Rehab. She was born in Hiwassee, Va. on October 21, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Eugene and Mary Viers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Leroy McCambridge; granddaughter, Megan Smythers; brothers, Herman Viers, and Ed Viers; sisters, Margaret Hicks, and Louise Dickerson.

She was a retired employee of Electro-plate Rite having 30 years of service. She was a member of Hiwasse Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Surviving are daughters and son-in-laws, Jackie and Cecil Thompson of Hiwassee, Va., Janet and Tim Ramsdell of Parrott, Va., Karen and Ray Curtis of Oak Hill W.Va.; son, Kirk McCambridge; grandchildren, Amy Carr, Christopher Thompson, Cecil Thompson Jr., Hannah Ramsdell, Kasey McCambridge, Ciara McCambridge, Savanah McCambridge, Morgan Smythers, Nathan Smythers, and Emma Curtis; great-grandchildren, Dillon Thompson and Kaden McCambridge; sister, Linda Atkins and husband, Gilbert; brother, John Viers and wife, Mildred; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016 from Stevens Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the McCambridge Family Cemetery, Hiwassee. Visiting will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Stevens Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorials be made to Hiwassee Pentecostal Holiness Church.
