Butler, Audrey Fleeman

Audrey Louise Fleeman Butler, 83, of Narrows, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek. A lifelong resident of Giles County, she was born in Narrows on January 4, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Hugh and Gertrude Boyd Fleeman. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Woodrow Wilson Butler, two brothers, Ray Fleeman and wife, Mary, and Dewey Fleeman and a sister and brother-in-law, Sylvia and James Tabor.

Louise was a faithful member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Narrows, and a devoted mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.

She is survived by a son and his wife, Eugene and Brenda Butler, of Dublin; three granddaughters, Teresa and Tony Paris, of Dublin, Robin and Tony Greenawalt, of Christiansburg, Kimberly Sheets, of Virginia Beach; four great-grandchildren, Christopher French and wife, Stephanie, Amanda French, all of Dublin, Amber Neuse and husband, Josh and Jeffrey Meredith, all of Christiansburg; three great-great-grandchildren,Julian and Jamison French and Gavin Neuse; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many special friends.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Riverview Nursing Home, and Dr. Kenneth Walker and his staff for the outstanding care given to Louise.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 605 Memorial Boulevard, Narrows with the Rev. Dennis Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
