McKinnon, Faye Clark
Faye Clark McKinnon, 69, of Pulaski, Va., departed this life on Thursday afternoon, July 30, 2009, in the Pulaski Community Hospital surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Max Meadows, Va., on April 15, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Oscar Bryant Clark and Eva Jamison Clark. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ronald William McKinnon.
Faye worked as an OR Tech at Pulaski General Hospital, attained her LPN degree in 1975 and continued working at Pulaski Community Hospital as a nurse and team member in the Physical Therapy Department. She helped to open two outpatient therapy clinics and was a devoted volunteer at the Free Clinic of Pulaski. She met her purpose in life by caring for those around her and her family would like to thank the community of Pulaski for their love and care in return.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Kari and Bruce Lester; sister, Jewel Heldreth; brother, Oscar Bryant Clark Jr.; granddaughter, Kilah M. Lester; and her “adopted” girls, Debbie, Angela, Lisa, and Jackie. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2009, from Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Billy Akers officiating.
Visiting will be held on Sunday afternoon from the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the service hour.
