Worrell, Glenn Albert

Glenn Albert (Peanut) Worrell, 76, of Pulaski, Va., died late Monday evening, July 20, 2009, in Pulaski Community Hospital. He was born August 8, 1932, in Pulaski County, and was the son of the late Laura Hollins Worrell and James Fountain Worrell.

His life-long passion was driving a cab, and was retired from TNT Cab Company in Pulaski.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Danny Lee Worrell; and a brother, Burgess Worrell. He is survived by his wife, Irene Hughett Worrell, of Pulaski: two sons, Michael Gene Worrell and his wife, Debbie, of Draper, and Donald Wayne Worrell and his wife, Faye, of Durham, N.C.; three daughters, Lucy Marie Dalton and her husband, Leon, of Pulaski, Della Sue (Susie) Worrell, of Pulaski, and Elizabeth (Libby) W. Wilson, of Roanoke; two brothers, Bud Worrell, of Durham, N.C., and Lewis Worrell, of Bedford; a sister, Mary W. Robinson, of North Carolina; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons with the Rev. Randy Winn officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, July 22, 2009, at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m.
