Roseberry, Ruby Mae Flanagan
Ruby Mae Flanagan Roseberry, 89, of Pulaski, Va., passed away early Thursday morning, July 16, 2009, in Pulaski Community Hospital’s skilled care unit. She was born in Wythe County on September 13, 1919, and was the daughter of the late Perry and Nannie Flanagan, who lovingly raised her in Carroll County.
She was a retired cook for Pulaski County Public Schools, and one of the oldest members of Anderson Memorial Presbyterian Church where she attended faithfully.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Roseberry. Ruby was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Ruby led by example and was always willing to help others. She is survived by a son, Terry Walter Roseberry and his wife, Sue, of Dublin; a daughter, Ruth Roseberry Vordo and her husband, Michael, of Christiansburg; and three sisters, Virginia Cecil, of Wytheville, Alma Myers and her husband, Rudolph, of Pulaski, and Ina McGrady of Hillsville. She is also survived by two special grandsons, Brian and Linda Roseberry, and Scott and Anastasia Roseberry, all of Roanoke; along with six greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews that she enjoyed visiting with.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday July 18, 2009, at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons with the Rev. Tim McGrady, nephew of Mrs. Roseberry, and the Rev. Johnny Howlett officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening, July 17, 2009, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
