Rogers, Patsy Ruth Crews

Patsy Ruth Crews Rogers, 81, of Pearisburg, departed this life Tuesday morning, July 14, 2009, at Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg after a long illness. Born in Pipestem, W.Va. on July 6, 1928, she was a daughter of the late William O. and Maude Martin Crews. Patsy was a member of Big Stony United Methodist Church at Kimballton and excelled in her beloved role as wife, mother, grandmother and matriarch of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Clyne Rogers; her parents; her brothers, Cecil and Maurie Crews; her sisters, Mae Rogers, Mildred Clear, Minnie Lee White, and Beulah Krol. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Ron Harrison, of Pearisburg, Donna and Bryan Altizer, of Ripplemead; her grandchildren, Suzanne Sherman (Phillip), Eva Harrison, Matthew Altizer (Elizabeth), and Jon Altizer; her great-granddaughter, Kitely Sherman; her numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
