Harris, Loretta Simmons

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Harris and fiance’ Colby Powell of Roanoke, Paula Harris and husband Eddie of Willis, and Patricia Williams and husband Frank of Roanoke; grandchildren, Retta Harris Bertges and husband Mike, Justin Harris, David Gordon and wife Amber, Sarah Williams, and step grandson Tony Williams; great grandchildren, Miranda and Andrew Harris, Carter and Kevin Bertges, Emily and Derek Gordon and step great granddaughter Chelsea Williams; brother-in-law, Elmer Nogle. As a homemaker, Loretta loved gardening and preserving the fruits and vegetables that she grew. She was a fabulous cook and baker and also enjoyed sewing and doing arts and crafts. Loretta was totally devoted to her family. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 16th, 2011 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Skole officiating. Interment to follow at the Willis Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, January 15th, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m.
