Boyd, Elsie Maleita

Elsie “Maleita” S. Boyd, 89, of Radford, Va., passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at Highland Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Dublin. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Dewey H. Boyd Jr.; her parents, Joseph and Ethel Smart; four sisters; and two brothers.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Bob Baker of Raleigh, N.C.; her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Melanie Boyd of Dublin; her grandchildren, Jason Baker of Raleigh, Brandon Baker and wife, Katie, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Justin Boyd and wife, Brandy, of Moyock, N.C.; her great-grandchildren, Ryan and Addison Baker and Henry and Lachlan Boyd; her brother, Joe Smart Jr.; and her sisters, Dorothy McCoy, Shirley Crabtree, and Dolly Hedge.A special thank you to her caregivers, Peggy Waddell, Rita Jones, Sherry Long, and Virginia Smart.

The family will recejive friends at DeVilbiss Funeral Home 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2016. Funeral services will begin 2 p.m. at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Harrell officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin.
