Jones, Okley Carlos

Okley Carlos Jones, 71 of Lindside, WV passed away, Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Lewis Gale Hospital – Montgomery, Blacksburg, VA. Born September 8, 1944 at Bozoo, WV he was the son of the late Carlos Swanson and Mary Jane Sweeney Jones. Okley served in Vietnam with the U.S. Airforce as a Staff Sergeant, and retired from Celanese as an Air Condition Mechanic.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Jones. Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Margie Buckland Jones, one son, Norman Fortin and wife Corey of Vermont, two daughters, Kim Cook of Narrows, VA and Carla Jones of Missouri, two sisters, Alma Jane Bradley of Narrows, VA and Wanda Jones Riddle and husband Gary of Pilot, VA, grandchildren, Katie and Kyle Fortin, Ricky Cook and wife Emily, Brittany Cook and fiancé Blake Cane, Billy Cook and wife Brittany and Heaven and John Jones,, great grandchildren, Billy and Caroline Cook and Kate and Clay Cook, special friends, Jimmy Hodges and Josiah “Nubs” Hodges, Bane Morris, William Broyles, Dickie Raugh and Sterl Morris, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, WV with Gary Hazelwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset View Cemetery, Bozoo, WV. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, January 18, 2016 at the funeral home.
