McNeil, Lynne Dawn Carver

Lynne Dawn Carver McNeil, 64, of Pulaski, Va., passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009, at her home surrounded by her family. Born February 19, 1945, in Rochester, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Thelma Regina Erlwein Carver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ronnie Carver; and one niece, Pamela Thompson. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. She served as a moral compass, a beacon of hope and constant source of support to each person she touched. She was a member of the St. Elias Maronite Catholic Church, Roanoke. She was a self taught artist specializing in florals, landscapes and wildlife. She has been a member and featured artist at the Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley, a member of the New River Arts Council and Women in the Arts, Washington, D.C. Surviving is her husband of 44 years, Henry "Hank" McNeil, of Pulaski; son and daughter-inlaw, Henry Robert "Scotty" McNeil and Allyson McNeil, of Montana; daughters and sons-in-law, Megan Mary Arnold and Chris Arnold, of Pulaski, Theresa Anne Newcomb and Larry Newcomb, of Dublin, Mary Regina Baron and Rob Baron, of Radford, and Rita Marie McNeil, of Pulaski; her 13 adored grandchildren, Shamus McNeil, Erin, Clayton, Gwendolynne and Jonah Arnold, Anna, Christian, Layla and Maya Newcomb, Robyn, Collin, Seth and Michael Baron; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat and Larry Thompson, of Michigan, Nancy Connor, of Ohio, Pamela and Chris Christopher, of Ohio, and Melissa and Daryl DeGuire, of Wisconsin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. Jimmy Carver and Dr. Susan Carver, of Ohio, Terry and Kathleen Carver, of Kansas, and Bradley and Judy Carver, of Wisconsin; mother-in-law, Rita McNeil, of Ohio; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Michael and Kathy McNeil, of Ohio, and Timothy and Marty McNeil, of Ohio. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 10, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bob White Blvd., Pulaski. A Funeral Liturgy will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2009, at St. Elias Catholic Maronite Catholic Church, 4730 Cove Road, N.W., Roanoke, with Father Claude Franklin officiating.
