Ratcliff, Jr., James Gilbert

James Gilbert Ratcliff, Jr., 71, of Pulaski passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015 in the Friendship Nursing Home, Roanoke, Va. He was born on March 18, 1944 in Pulaski and was the son of the late James Gilbert Ratcliff and Blanche Waddell Ratcliff, Pulaski. Mr. Ratcliff was a veteran of the Army with two tours of duty in Vietnam.

Surviving is his wife of 45 years, Joyce Marie Ratcliff, of Pulaski; sons, James Gilbert Ratcliff, III (Jim), of Dublin and Jason Shawn Ratcliff, of Pulaski; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2015 from the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Collins officiating. Visiting will be Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the service hour. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin with the Pulaski VFW Post #1184 conducting the military graveside rites.

The family extends special thanks to all who cared for James during his brave fight with cancer. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, VA 24018.
