Hummel, Janet Gail

Janet Gail Hummel, 63, of Pulaski, died Monday, September 21, 2015. Born on January 30, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Joseph F. Hummel Jr. and Edith Gibbs Hummel.

Survivors include her daughter, Janelle Emeny; granddaughters, Mackenzie Emeny and Lexi Emeny; sister, Jo Ann “Ran” Hagood and husband Bill, sister, Jill Tibbetts; three nieces; and a close-knit circle of friends.

Those who knew Janet will remember her as strong, adventurous, resourceful and fiercely independent. It was in her nature to be completely self-sufficient. She was determined to battle her many illnesses by herself and on her own terms. She did not allow her pain to diminish her love and adoration of her granddaughters or hinder her enjoyment of social gatherings, dinners at Jim’s Steakhouse and deep conversations with her friends. We can take comfort in knowing that her struggles are ended.
