Richardson, Shelby

Shelby Richardson, 69, of Christiansburg, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015. Shelby loved her family and enjoyed working in her flower garden. There was not a flower that she could not get to grow. We will all miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sarah Fisher; sister, Kay Dickerson; brother, Jerry Fisher; and mother-in-law, Virginia Richardson. Shelby is survived by her sons, William “Bill” Richardson and David Richardson; brother, Leslie Fisher and wife, Rosa; sister, Patricia Fisher; brother-in-law, Russell Creasey and wife, Galey; sisters-in-law, Joyce Shelton and husband, Harold, Jackie Fisher, and Linda Fisher; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as her ex-husband, Jessie Richardson, with whom she shared 46 years.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Heritage Hall and Good Samaritan Hospice. The family would especially like to thank her roommate, Denise Haley and her mother, Thelma, and Lula Brilhart for being a shining light in her final days.

The visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2015, at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2015, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel.
