Hubler, Peggy Morgan

Peggy Ann (Morgan) Hubler, 81 died Monday October 5th, 2015 at Heritage Hall nursing home under the care of SouthernCare hospice after suffering from a recent stroke. Peggy moved to Blacksburg, VA from Gainesville, FL two months ago with her granddaughter and caregiver Cassandra Maynard and her family.

Peggy was born on August 25th, 1934 in Clayton, New Mexico. During her life she lived in New Mexico, California, Nevada, Florida and Virgina. She lived for a brief period in the Phillipines with her children while her husband Donald Max Hubler was serving in Vietnam. Her and Donald met while he was enlisted in the Air Force and then wed November 7th, 1966 in New Mexico. They were married 42 years.

She had many hobbies including bowling, baking, caring for her flowers, ceramics, sewing, crocheting and anything crafty. When in New Mexico she looked forward to green chile season and the Balloon Fiesta. She worked various places as a cashier, an elementary school cafteria cook, but mostly loved her job as a homemaker and helping raise her grandchildren. She volunteered with many school activities at the local elementary school when in Albuquerque and helped with various Girl Scout activities.

She is survived by her sons Bill OBrien of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Richard Hubler of Midland, Texas and her adopted daughter (granddaughter) Cassandra Maynard. Her daughter Patricia Lucas of Palm Bay, FL preceded her in death as well as all of her siblings. Peggy will be smiling down on her family including her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren which were the apple of her eye.

Per her request there will be no services and cremation arrangements have been made with McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg VA. In leu of flowers please donate to your local hospice or the American Stroke Association.
