Meisler, Evan Matthew
Evan Matthew Meisler, 24, of Blacksburg, formerly of Woodstock NY, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015. Evan grew up in Brooklyn, and moved with his family to Woodstock. He graduated from Virginia Tech, and grew to love the Hokie Nation. After graduation, he remained in Blacksburg.
He and his girlfriend Pia would often cook and have large dinners with friends. His Hokie community became his family away from home. He was a loyal friend to so many. He loved working out with his friends and just being there for them in so many ways.
He is survived by his parents; Helene Gordon (Robert Straus), Mitchell Meisler and his wife Jeanine. His Grandmother Estelle Gordon, and step grandparents Howard and Diane McComiskey. He also is survived by his 2 little brothers, whom he adored; Alex and Daniel, (buckos) even making dough from scratch for pizzas for them.
Evan was the type of person who loved helping people; he would fix their cars, drive them somewhere, or just be there for them when he saw a need.
He also enjoyed spending time with friends and watching TV; examples of his favorite shows were Duck Dynasty and South Park. What he loved more than anything was his girlfriend of over 2 years, Pia Banerjee.
A celebration of his life will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, September 27, 2015, at the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, 150 Country Club DR. SW, Blacksburg, 24060. Pastor David M. Derrow will officiate.
