Tickle, Jerry Lee

Jerry Lee Tickle, 74, of Pembroke and formerly of Roanoke, departed this life at his home Wednesday evening, July 22, 2015. Born in Giles County on July 21, 1941, he was a son of the late Walter Wingfield Scott Tickle and Latha Ann Fisher Tickle.

Jerry was raised in the spiritual care of the Pembroke Assembly of God, graduated from Pembroke High School (The Corncutters) and earned his living as a flooring mechanic in the Roanoke area. After the passing of his mother when he was very young he made his home with his brother and sister-in-law George and Evangeline Tickle of Pembroke.

He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Christine Holly Tickle, his daughter-in-law Joyce Tickle, his sister Laura T. Tabor, his brothers Walter, Miller, Jack, Wallace,Joe, Frank, Lyle, Guy, and George Tickle.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son Andrew S. Tickle of Pembroke; his step-son David A. Cockran; his daughters Phyllis and Rebecca of Spokane, WA; his two grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, and friends.
