Stoots, Alena Gertrude

Alena Gertrude (Snook) Stoots, 82, of Pulaski, Va., and formerly of the Poplar Hills Community (Giles) passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2009, in the Highland Ridge Nursing Home, Dublin. Born November 25, 1926, in Pulaski, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Early and Rosa Hoback Stoots. Her daughter, Patricia Stutler; sister, Canary Harrell; and brother, Ira Smith; also preceded her in death. She was retired from Celanese with over 27 years of service. Surviving are her daughters and sons-inlaw, Barbara “Bobbie” Lafon, of Wytheville, Donna and Perry Gallimore, of Draper, and Tammy and Maury J. Robertson, of Pulaski; grandchildren and spouses, Greg Vest, Scott and Chrissi Vest, Shannon Lafon, Joshua and Michelle Gallimore, Travis Gallimore and fiance, Melinda Flanagan, Matt Robertson, Mason Robertson, April Dean, Zachary Stutler, Daniel Stutler, and Molly Stutler; 17 greatgrandchildren; and sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Bob Jones, of Dublin. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2009, at the Bower Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Akers officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, April 23, 2009, at the Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski.
