Reves, Edward Wilson
Edward Wilson (Donnie) Reves, 78, of Fairlawn, Va., passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2009.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Foster Sr. and Stella Graham Reves; two brothers, Foster “Sarge” Reves and wife, Toshiko, Boomer Reves and wife, Shirley; two sisters, Patsy Reves Whitt and husband, Jimmy, Peggy Ray.
Left to cherish his memory are two sons, Edward Reves Jr. and wife, June, Foster “Chip” Reves and wife, Beth; one daughter, Trudy Miller and husband, Ricky; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; former wife, Liz Reves; one brother-in-law, Billy Ray Sr.; numerous nieces and nephews; and his “special children”, Blacky, Sunny and Jake the cat, among others.
Donnie bravely served his country in the Army during the Korean War and was awarded the Silver Star and a Purple Heart. His family wishes to take this opportunity to honor him for his sacrificial service to our country.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2009, at DeVilbiss Funeral Home, 1200 Grove Avenue, Radford, Va. 24141. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2009, at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jerry Gibson officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford, Va.
