Adkins, Mary Elizabeth Louise

Mary Elizabeth Louise Adkins, 75, of Curve Road in Pearisburg, Va., departed this life on Tuesday evening, April 7, 2009, at Pulaski Community Hospital in Pulaski, Va. Born in Pearisburg on October 25, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Houston and Elsie Mae Sadler Gautier. She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Buford Adkins; and her sisters, Betty Nelson, Sue Hale and Judy Smith. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Carolyn Snider, of Pearisburg, Regina and Nelson Reynolds, of Blacksburg, and Tammy and Raymond McGuire, of Pembroke; her son, Johnny and Darlene Adkins, of Pearisburg; her brother, "Bill" C.W. and Bonnie, of Pembroke; her sisters, Nettie Wilson, of Pearisburg, and Brenda Hodge, of Pearisburg; her grandchildren, Jinnifer Adkins, Stephanie Vaught, Josh Snider, J.C. McGuire, and Makayla McGuire; and her greatgrandson, Anthony Vaught. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2009, in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, April 9, 2009.
