Bocock, Reba Harris

Reba Harris Bocock, 89, of Snowville, took her place on the “Heavenly Express” on Friday morning, March 27, 2009, and was delivered into the loving arms of her Savior. Reba was the daughter of the late L. Jordan and Daisy Wilson Harris. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond E. Bocock and a brother, Arbra (Bud) Harris.

Surviving is a sister, Ruth H. Quesenberry Phillips of Snowville. Also surviving are her children, Annie and husband, Gene Akers, of Snowville, Jordan (J.D.) Bocock and wife, Anne, of Sykesville, Md., Mary and husband, George Akers, Sr., of Snowville; grandchildren, Pamela B. and husband Scott Harris of Maryland, George Akers, Jr. and wife, Freddi of Snowville, Robin and husband, Samuel Lucas, of Christiansburg, Drury Bocock of Maryland, Lori and husband, David Phillips, of Snowville, Scott Akers and wife, Jennifer, of Radford, Adam Akers, Snowville, George and Mike Culler of Maryland; great-grandchildren, Cody and Derek Akers, Julia and John Lucas, Christopher, Jordan, R. J. and Emily Phillips, Ryan Spangler-Akers, Kayden, Erika and Michaela Akers, Jimmy and Betsy Harris, and Katie Culler; two nephews, Don Harris and Mike Quesenberry; and six nieces,

Prior to transferring her membership to Snowville Christian Church, Reba was a member of Graysontown United Methodist Church, where she served as Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, VBS Teacher, Women’s group chair and Official Board Chair. After the close of Graysontown UMC, she became actively involved in the life and ministry of Snowville Christian Church. She loved her family, life, and people in general. Through her lifetime, she has been an inspiration to many.

A time of visitation will be held Sunday evening, March 29, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Grove Avenue, Radford. A memorial service celebrating her life will be led by the Rev. Jonathan Webster at 2 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2009 at Snowville Christian Church. There will also be a time for visitation prior to the service. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Garden, Dublin.
