Craft, Linda Hyatt

After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Linda Hyatt Craft, 60, of Narrows, Va., passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2009, surrounded by her children and family. Linda, or better known by her family as “Harv”, was born on September 2, 1948, in Princeton, WV. Linda graduated from Narrows High School in 1966. She is the daughter of Doris and the late Mack Hyatt of Narrows, VA.

She is survived by two children: Jennifer Proffitt-Robinson, husband Chris and son Blake of Glen Allen, VA, and Ryan Craft and wife, Jessica of Narrows, VA. Surviving siblings are Michael and Gladys Hyatt, Jackie and Marion Ballard, Paul and Sue Hyatt, all of Narrows, VA; Ann and Jerry Cerreta of Glendale, AZ. She is also survived by one very special aunt and uncle, Randall and Louise Wheeler, of Narrows, VA. Linda was a loving and doting aunt to 15 nieces and nephews, 16 great nieces and nephews and many devoted friends. Linda was a member of The Ladies Auxiliary VFW, Post 6000.

Linda’s passion in life was cooking meals for others, and attending Green Wave football games while ringing her famous cow bell. She will also be remembered for her love of reading and hummingbirds.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Harry McCoy and staff for the years they have lovingly cared for Linda. Another special thank you goes to Dr. McMahon, the nurses and staff of Giles Memorial Hospital.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows Tuesday, March 31st, 2009 from 4 to 6 PM. A memorial service in the chapel will follow at 6 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests that individuals complete “A Random Act of Kindness,” in the honor of Linda, just as she would have.
