Sutphin, Emily Ruth Gerberich

Emily Ruth Gerberich Sutphin, 91, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 21, 2015. She was born June 10, 1924, in Draper, Va., to the late David Early Gerberich and Mattie Johnson Gerberich.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joseph C. Sutphin; sister Mary Lois G. Tountasakis; infant brother Joel Gerberich; and infant daughter Laura Ann Sutphin.

Surviving are his brother, Wesley J. Gerberich and wife Margaret of Chesapeake, Ohio; nieces and nephew; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces.

There will be no evening visitation.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25, at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem, Va., with Pastor Jim Rivers officiating.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Roanoke Rescue Mission, in lieu of Flowers.
