Wyms, Annabelle T.

Annabelle T. Wyms, 86, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015, at home in Radford, Va. She was born on December 25, 1928, in Switchback, W.Va., to the late Henry and Alice Thomas.

Annabelle was a devoted member, Deaconess and Church Mother of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Radford, Va. She retired from the Housekeeping Department of Radford University in 1993. Annabelle was preceded in death by her husband, Idian Owens Wyms.

Survivors include one son, Johnny (Connie) Wyms, of Jacksonville Fla.; one daughter, Rosalind Nelson, of Radford, Va.; four grandchildren, Roderick Wyms, Angie Wyms, Terri Hatzenburger, all of Jacksonville, Fla., and Veronica Nelson, of Radford, Va.; five great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Pruitt of St. Augustine, Fla.; one brother, Calvin (Elaine) Thomas of Palm Coast, Fla.; devoted sister-in-law, Bobbi Flynn; sister-in-law, Lorene Wyms, both of Radford, Va.

A special thanks goes out to Carilion Hospice, friends and neighbors for their care, prayers and support over the past few months during her illness.

Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Zion Hill Baptist Church, 910 West Rock Road, Radford, Va. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Sunrise Burial Park in Fairlawn, Va. Condolences may be sent to www.Hamlar-Curtis.com.
