Cox, Judy Ann Rutrough
Judy Ann Rutrough Cox, 57, of Radford, Va., was born on April 3, 1951, and on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, her soul went to be with the Lord. She will be remembered as a courageous woman, a compassionate friend and wife, and a warm-hearted mother. She leaves to cherish her memory a husband, Joe Cox; one son, Brian Cox; twin stepdaughters, Marsha Phillips and Michele Cox; her parents, Julian and Eveleen Rutrough; one brother, Eddie Rutrough; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2009, at Gardner Funeral Home in Floyd, Va. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2009, at Olde Salem, Head of the River, Primitive Baptist Church in Copper Hill, Va., with Elder Junior Conner officiating and Elder Larry Hollandsworth assisting. A graveside service will follow with Pastor Marvin Wade officiating. The family asks that all donations be made to the Floyd County Medical Charities. Special thanks to Blue Ridge Cancer of Lewis Gale, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, and Good Samaritan Hospice for the comfort and care provided over the past four years.
