Butler, Noelle Theresa

Noelle Theresa Butler, age 57, of Blacksburg died June 5, 2015. She was born in Alameda, CA on January 16, 1958 to the late Noel Vincent Johnson and Theresa Margaret MacDougall. Noelle was a math teacher at Blacksburg High School who devoted much of her life to her students.

Before teaching, she spent over 20 years in Sequim, Washington hiking, windsurfing, sailing and raising her daughter. She is survived by her daughter, Jill Claire Butler, of Blacksburg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald Joseph Mccurdy and wife Beverly, of Charlottesville, Neil Anthony Johnson and wife Mary, of Chesapeake, Paul Vincent Johnson and wifeTerry, of Jacksonville, Eric Nicholas Johnson; nieces, Theresa, Nicole, Amber; nephew, Adam; close friends, Julie Jenkins and Tom Daughtrey. A celebration of life and potluck will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Methodist Christian Life Center at 706 Harding Avenue in Blacksburg.
