Whitt, Ricky Lee

Ricky Lee Whitt, 61, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Narrows, VA passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015. Ricky was born on April 30, 1954 to the late Thomas and Ruby Epling Whitt. Ricky was preceded in death by his father, mother, sister, Debbie Drysdale, and son, Wesley Rhett Whitt.

Ricky attended Narrows High School and graduated in 1972. He was an accomplished horse trader and loved working and being around horses. Ricky loved talking with and being with his family and friends, and watching old western movies.

He is survived by his children, Taylor Ann Whitt, of Bluefield, WV, Lindsey Lee Whitt, of Mooresville, NC; one granddaughter, Ava Nikol Cox, also of Mooresville, NC, whom he adored; his brothers, Jeff Whitt and wife, Marsha, of Gloucester, VA, Tommy Whitt and wife, Karen, of Christiansburg, VA, and Joe Whitt, of Louisville, KY; his sisters, Phyllis Crutchman, of Hampton, VA, Gale Rakes and husband, Terry, of Blacksburg, VA. Also special cousins, Pam Shrader of Christiansburg, VA and Greg Taylor, of Salem, VA; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Ricky’s humor, smile, and his zest for life will be missed by his many family and friends.

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 11:00 am in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Sue Dodson-Walker officiating. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
