Furrow, Ella I. Holdren

Ella I. Holdren Furrow, 86, of Blacksburg passed away on Thursday June 4, 2015. She attended the former Newport Lutheran Church and retired from Virginia Tech.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Furrow, daughters Brenda Burkholder, Barbara Garcia and son Jerry Furrow, plus Sons-in-law Tom Allen, Melvin Hutchison, and Danny Burkholder Sr.

She is survived by daughters, Betty Allen, Bonnie Grubb, Becky Hutchison, Beverly Phipps and Beth Shepherd, Son John (Karolee) Furrow. She is also survived by her brother Emmett Holdren. Also survived by 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

She was a wonderful Christian lady, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She instilled great character and Christian values in her children and showed them that compassion for others is very important. The love and guidance and support she has given will never be forgotten. We are truly blessed to have such a humble and caring mother.

Visitation and Services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 10-12 noon. Services will be held at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel at 12 Noon with Rev. Kevin Altizer officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
