Gentle, Charles Edward

Charles Edward Gentle, 54, of Mutter Lane in Pearisburg departed this life Wednesday morning April 12, 2006 at Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg.

Born in Bluefield, WV on November 11, 1951 he was a son of the late Samuel G. and Maudie Alice Rose Gentle. He was employed as Assistant Manager of Food Lion Store in Fairlawn, was a veteran of the U S Navy, and was a devoted fan of Harley-Davidson Motorcycles and enjoyed riding.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Linda Tawney Gentle; a son Charles E. Gentle, Jr. of Bluefield, WV; three daughters Karen G. Smith of Bluefield, WV, Amber Gentle and Ashleigh Gentle both of the home; a step-son Brent Johnson of the home; two brothers Sam Gentle and wife Liz of Bluefield, VA and Sonny Ray Gentle of Bluefield, WV; a sister Sandra Kay Gentts of Bluefield, WV; five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday April 17, 2006 at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor Barry Fleming officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
