Long, Audrey Virginia

Audrey “Sissy” Virginia Long, 59, of Christiansburg, passed away Monday, May 4, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert A. Long and Dorothy Hinkley Long; brother, Robert “Rocky” Long Jr., grandparents, Robert and Mae Long, Walter and Mammie Hinkley.

She is survived by her nieces, Emily Akers and Natasha Long; nephew, Johnny Long; aunts, Freda Curtis and Doris Long; uncle, Woodrow Yopp Sr.; and numerous cousins; friends; and neighbors who loved her dearly, as well as her furry children, Jasper and Ellie.

Audrey was a very loving, kind, generous individual with a heart of gold. She loved volunteering at the Montgomery County Christmas Store and the Giving Tree Food Pantry. She worked as a legal assistant for 41 years and 20 of those years in Commonwealths Attorney Office. Sissy we will forever miss you but you will always be in our hearts.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 9, 2015, from 11 to 1 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Graveside Service will be held directly after with the Rev. Jonathan Page officiating.
