Collins, Joseph Ray

Joseph Ray Collins, 59, of Blacksburg, died Thursday, April 30, 2015. He was born in Christiansburg December 25, 1955. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Collins; a grandmother, Lucille Collins; a son, Michael Hixon; a brother, Gilbert Collins; and a sister, Wanda Younce.

He is survived by his wife, Donna J. Collins; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Aaron Hixon, Darrell and Stephanie Hixon; special grandsons, Karston and Dayton Kidd; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Eddie Lang, and their children, Doodle and Squirt; special nephew, Garth A. Boles; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Georgia and Alan Butterworth; 11 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2015, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Early officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
