Weeks, Robert Edward Cline
Robert Edward “Ed” Cline Weeks passed away peacefully Friday, May 1, 2015, in his home. He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Tennis Weeks Sr.; and mother, Mary Ethel Weeks; brother, Harold “Tennis” Weeks Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Marie Weeks; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Ashley Weeks and Heather Simonne Weeks, of Roanoke; daughter and son-in-law, Betthney Weeks O’Connell and Eric J. O’Connell, of Stuart; grandson, Loftin Weeks, of Roanoke; granddaughters, Emory Weeks and Yates Weeks, of Roanoke; and sister-in-law, Patty Belcher Weeks of Floyd.
A 1965 graduate of Floyd County High School and a graduate of Danville Technical Institute, he served his country honorably for 26 years as a proud member of the United States Army Reserve, serving in active duty in Desert Storm. He returned to work in his family business, Weeks Auto Parts and Service. He then left the family business to teach Auto Mechanics at Floyd County High School. He retired from the Army in 1993. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Kazim Shrine Temple. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, cooking, gardening, and creating in his work shop.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2015, at Willis Cemetery with the Rev. Darlene Marshall officiating. Military Rites by Floyd V.F.W. Post #7854 and American Legion Post #127.
