Harris, Carl B.

Carl B. Harris, 87, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2009, in Blacksburg, Va. Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Lucille Harris.

He was retired from Virginia Electric Power Company. He was a navy veteran of World War II and was a graduate VPI in 1949. He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Men’s Club, Knights of Columbus, and volunteer at Leigh Hospital.

He is survived by his four children, Larry Harris and wife, Wanda, of Clarksville, Md., Carolyn Walker and husband, Joe, of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., Nancy Brittle and husband, Coleman, of Blacksburg, Va., and Kevin Harris and wife, Carla, of Canton, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A visitation will begin 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2009, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church with a funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Warm Hearth Foundation in Blacksburg, Va.
