Weidner, William Robert

William Robert “Bob” Weidner, age 81, of Blacksburg died, Friday, April 24, 2015. He was a patient, loving, generous, husband, father and grandfather; a talented, perpetual teacher; a competitive, passionate coach and athlete; and an avid sports enthusiast.

Bob was a great mentor to children, a selfless individual, and an Air Force veteran. Furthermore, he was always one who loved a challenge and one who thought deeply about life and all it’s mysteries. He was greatly loved by family and friends and will be incredibly missed.

Bob is survived by his wife, Carey L. Weidner; daughter and son -in-law, Amanda Weidner and Dave Capwell; son Kurt Weidner, two grandchildren, Jordan and Bailey Capwell, all of Blacksburg.

The family will be holding a private service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Blacksburg Rescue Squad, 200 Progress Street, NE, Blacksburg, Va. 24060.
