Hurley, Joseph Bernard

Joseph Bernard Hurley, 74, of Fruitland Park, Fla. went to his heavenly reward on Sunday, April 9, 2006.

Born April 13, 1931 in Port Lambton, Ontario son of Ray and Mary Hurley, he lived many years in the Detroit area of Michigan and Christiansburg, Va.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council #6747, Blacksburg, Va. and former member of the Lion’s Club, Christiansburg, Va.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lucile Jakubiszen Hurley of Fruitland Park; son Michael Hurley (Barbara) of Anchorage, Alaska; daughters, Diane Hurley and Donna Hurley of High Point, N.C.; brother James Hurley, Macomb, Mich.; sisters, M. Theresa Michal of Shelby Twp., Mich., Margaret Roux of Lewiston, Mich., Kathleen Little of Beaverton, Mich., Rose Budry of Shelby Twp., Mich. and Ann Smillie of Oxford, Mich.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John L. (Jack) Hurley.

A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Leesburg, Fla. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to Hospice of Lake/Sumter Co., 12300 Lane Park Road, Tavares, Fla. 32778. Beyers Funeral Home, Leesburg, Fla. is in charge of arrangements.
