Conley, Lawrence Matthew

Lawrence Matthew Conley, 64, of Narrows, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 29, 2008 at New River Valley Medical Center. He was born August 18, 1944 at Pearisburg, Va.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley Wilson and Claudia Niday Conley, five brothers, Joseph Wiley, Frank Gerald, Dallas Dexter, Ezra Roscoe and William Roger Conley, three sisters, Imogene Opal Lee Sparks, Wilma Lucille Kirby Hart and Dorothy Faye Thomas. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Connie Conley, Riner; a daughter, Pamela K. Jonas, Roanoke; six grandchildren, Priscilla Looney, Nick Caldwell, of Roanoke, Jennifer Overington, Norfolk, Keely Conley, Ryan Conley and Samantha Phillips, of Riner; two great-grandchildren, Davonte Banks and Elijah Banks, of Roanoke; four sisters, Josephine Sparks, Juanita Potts and Brenda Robertson, of Narrows, Margaret Kidd, Pulaski; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 1, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Cornerstone Church, Narrows, with the Rev. Tony Robertson officiating. Burial in the Bradley Cemetery, Lindside, W. Va. Visitation will be at the Cornerstone Church Thursday from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m.
