Woolwine, Mary Ella Mays

amem_christmas-house.jpgMary Ella Mays Woolwine, 79, of Pulaski, Va., died on Sunday, December 28, 2008, in the Beulah House, Dublin, Va. She was born in Amherst, Va., on October 18, 1929, and was the daughter of the late John Mays and Mary Campbell Mays Mears. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oakley Harrell Woolwine.

Mrs. Woolwine was a graduate of Madison College, now James Madison University, and a former member of the Pulaski Country Club.

Surviving are her children and spouses, Lynda and Larry Johnson, of Roanoke, Jon and Kathy Woolwine, of Pulaski, and Leslie and Jack Swick, of Draper; grandchildren and spouses, Ashley and Eric Moore, of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Lara and Ron Frith Jr., of New Castle, Margaret Woolwine, of Roanoke, and Adam and Bobby Swick, of Draper; and one great grandson, Ronald Frith III, of New Castle.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2008, from Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Joe Grooten officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. from Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem. Visiting will be held on Tuesday evening, December 30, 2008, at Stevens Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the Beulah House, 4704 Caddell Lane, Dublin, Va. 24084.
