Kirk, Frankie Norman

Frankie Norman Kirk, age 74, of Blacksburg passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015. He was born in Blacksburg, Va. on February 12, 1941 to the late Wray Walker and Lisie Frances Perdue Kirk. He was also preceded in death by a brother W. Walter Kirk.

He graduated from Blacksburg High School in 1959. Attended Va. Tech for 2 years where he wrestled and became Southern Conference Champion in 1961. He spent 2 years in the U.S. Army and a year in Vietnam. He was employed at Lyric Theatre as a film projectionist and served as assistant manager for 23 years before opening his own theatre. He was owner of Radford Theatre for 30 years. Longtime member of Blacksburg Christian Church Disciples of Christ.

He is survived by his dear friend Regina Ratliff, of Christiansburg, sister-in-law, Bettie Kirk of Fairlawn, Va., two nephews, William Kirk and wife, Jan, of Salem, Thom Kirk and wife, Ginny, Draper, Va., niece, Karen Kirk, of McCoy.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 24, 2015 at 10:00 am in the Blacksburg Christian Church with the Rev. Gary McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. In lieu flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Blacksburg Christian Church Disciples of Christ 240 Watson Ave., Blacksburg, Va. 24060. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Thursday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg, Va..
