Jackson, Lenore Frances
Lenore Frances Jackson, 64, of Christiansburg, died Saturday, December 27, 2008, at her home. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on September 8, 1944, to the late James and Dorothy Cavanaugh Flood. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Everett Jackson; brother, Harold Minch; and grandson, Thomas McFee.
Lenore’s family will always cherish her lifelong compassion for helping those in need, along with her love and devotion to her family, friends and faith.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Tom McFee, of Christiansburg, Denise and Bromley Jacobs, of Lincoln University, Pa., Jennifer and Kevin Poole, of Christiansburg, Maureen and Michael Spaulding, of Radford; son and daughter-in-law, George and Kristie Jackson, of Christiansburg. She was affectionately known as (Grammy) to her thirteen grandchildren, Meghan, Andrew and Ryan McFee, Kristen, Timothy, and Sean Jacobs, Ashley, Charlie and Sydney Jackson, Raegan, Samantha, and Jackson Poole, Olivia Spaulding; brother, James Flood, of Long Beach, N.Y.; best friend of fifty years, Aunt Marguerite; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and other friends.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Lenore’s life will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at 10 a.m. at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, 1740 Tyler Road, Radford, Va., with the Father Ken Shuping officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Women’s Resource Center of the New River Valley, P.O. Box 477, Radford, Va. 24143.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg.
